Dusty Baker... Rock and Roll

Our studio is inside the Rock and Radio museum, Dennis Newhall's stunning collection of hundreds of area concert posters from the 50's to the present. The most rare poster is from the show Dusty remembers attending in 1968, when Cream and the Grateful Dead appeared together onstage for the first and last time at Sacramento's Memorial Auditorium.

Dusty generously offered to speak on behalf of water conservation and was in our studio last month recording PSAs for TV and radio, which we produced for the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA).

Our studio is the site of the old Oasis Ballroom, where Taj Mahal, Maria Muldaur, Jerry Garcia and many other great musicians played. Dusty saw an old photo of Elvin Bishop wearing overalls and laughed. "I go fishing with Elvin at least twice a year," he said. "And five days out of seven you'll still see him in overalls!"
